Long before
Walt Disney turned Winnie the Pooh and his friends into moviestars, Christopher
Robin Milne, was a little boy lived in England, who became for his first
birthday a stuffed bear.
He
named this bear Edward. ( later renamed it Winnie the Pooh). By other birthdays
Christopher became other stuffed animals.
One day Christopher's father, A.A.Milne and the artist E.H.Shepard decided to wirte bedtime stories about these animals and two more, Owl and Rabbit. From that day one Pooh and his friends had many adventures.
October 1 1924 the first stories
came of a special toys bear. He came down the stair, behind the arm of
Christopher Robin. The stories were published in England and America. Now he is
the most famous bear in the world. Named Winnie the Pooh.
A.A.Milne writed books about Winnie the Pooh, his son Christopher Robin and their friends in the 100 Acre Wood. Their friends are Eeyore, Piglet, Tigger, Kanga and Roo. Rabbit and Owl were animals who belong to Christopher. The name Pooh was from origine the name of the swam. who lived at the farm. The story was original written with these animals. And happened in the surrounding of Milnes house, Cotchford Farm in Sussex. In this area is also the 100 acre wood.

All these books were illustrated by E.H.Shepard.
He did that beautiful. Like magic. The books are translated now in more than 25
languages. The Pooh books were also favorite by Walt Disney's daughters.
That
was the reason that Disney brings out a film.
Films of Winnie the Pooh are:
"The many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh"
in 1966.
In 1977 became the first animated film
"Pooh's Grand Adventure". In 1997,this
was Disney's 22th success.
"The Tigger Movie" februar 2000,the
leader was now Tigger.
In 1993 the Walt Disney Company let know, that
Winnie the Pooh is the second in the list of favorite characters, after Mickey
Mouse. After the second release of The Manny Adventures of Winnie the Pooh the
little bear has proved that he was more populair than other disney characters.
